What is the name for a razor that has broken at the pivot point and has had a handle put onto it so it can still be used BUT the handle doesn't move. I swear it starts with an "R". It's not revamp, renovated, re-handled, rescaled, rejuvenated or remade. I have been searching since 7am (now 9pm). I know the word and the second I see it I'll be jumping for joy.
PLEASE.....HELP!!!!!!
Handles that don't move = fixed razor or non-folder. Not sure what word you're looking for, though.

Often the word used is Mod'd as in Modified, not sure if that was the word you were after or not :)
But it is often used to describe work that takes the razor well out of the Vintage Restore arena

Wow... you have me wanting to go out to the shop and start grinding stuff... Those are both beautiful.. But I do wish Kamisaurus Rex ended up as a non folding.. Those were awesome sketches.

So when you do the Kamisori style you split the handle to capture the resized tang, and then use a filler and adhesive to bond the two sides back together?
If yes, how do you avoid a mis-matched seam where the halves come together? Or are they book-matched?
I absolutely love the kamisori style designs. I think I am drooling just a bit..
They are one piece, that was hollowed out then fit to the tang, some I have pinned others I have not.. Matching the pinhole is always a fun adventure hehehe
The "Trick" is in the sanding on the outside of the hollow portion, making sure you don't go too thin, and wreck all your work :(
